The course consists of eight modules and includes Alberta-specific rules to follow when working at heights.

Module 0: Getting Started

Overview of the course structure, navigation, and purpose. Introduction to fall protection concepts, emphasizing the importance of safety training to reduce workplace injuries and fatalities. Outlines the components of the course, including quizzes, videos, and practical assessments.


Module 1: Introduction to Fall Protection

Definition and importance of fall protection, legal requirements, and stakeholder roles. Highlights worker rights, safety culture principles, and introduces fall protection plans.

Module 2: Fall Protection Systems 

Details the different types of fall protection systems, including travel restraint, fall arrest systems, and fall restrict systems. Explains the components of each system, their appropriate applications, and maintenance practices to ensure worker safety. 


Module 3: Warning Methods and Physical Barriers

Focuses on preventive measures such as guardrails, bump lines, safety nets, and warning signs. Explains their installation requirements, usage scenarios, and effectiveness in preventing falls from heights. 


Module 4: Work Access Equipment and Platforms 

Explores the safe use of ladders, scaffolds, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). Discusses inspection requirements, fall protection integration, and the proper selection of equipment based on the task and work environment.

Final Exam & Certification 

Learners need a passing mark of 80% on the final exam to successfully complete the course. You have two attempts to pass the exam. An industry-recognized digital certificate and wallet badge is issued immediately after passing. Certification is valid for three years.
