Testimonials

The format of the course was very helpful and allowed me the flexibility to take the course after work. Well done, I wish more providers had offerings like this.

LAMONT C.

The ground disturbance course was easy to take. It covered the majority of materials and situations that a worker could experience.

BENJAMIN G.

Thank you for a thorough ground disturbance course. Danatec's course is one of the best for field operations, and so practical.

NICK S.

I have done ground disturbance in-class 5 different times over my 25-year oil and gas career... this was a good course. It was explained well and covered all aspects.

BUD M.

I went from knowing a limited amount to being able to confidently complete the test — and to use what I've learned in real-world applications.

TYLER S.

Thorough training, with in-depth simulated scenarios that make you feel like you are supervising an actual ground disturbance project.

Do I need Ground Disturbance Level I® or Ground Disturbance Level II® training?

Ground Disturbance Level I® is an operational-level training program designed for workers who participate in ground disturbance activities.

If you supervise others, make important onsite decisions, or often work independently without supervision, we recommend that you take the most applicable Ground Disturbance Level II® course in your jurisdiction.

Make sure you know which level of training is required for your worksite or by your employer.

Is this training valid outside of Alberta, B.C, and Manitoba?

Yes. Danatec Ground Disturbance Level II® training programs are endorsed by Utility Safety Partners, British Columbia Common Ground Alliance, and the Manitoba Common Ground Alliance. This is every province in Canada that has a 201 Ground Disturbance Training Standard. Check with your employer and worksite for what’s required, as 201 endorsed training is often required even outside of these three provinces.

Ground Disturbance Best Practices is also available for those not residing in Alberta, B.C., or Manitoba. This training is designed for ground disturbance supervisors but doesn’t contain provincial legislation or issue a CCGA regional partner endorsed training certificate.

How can I get Ground Disturbance Level II® certified in multiple provinces, while saving money and time?

We now offer provincial bundles, allowing you to obtain endorsed certifications in multiple provinces, saving you hours in repetitive training and at half the cost. You will only have to complete Ground Disturbance Level I® and Ground Disturbance Level II® one time, and take the additional provincial modules and final exams to achieve these add-on certifications.

Already certified? We also offer the add-on provincial courses as standalone courses. Note that you will not be able to begin this training without a valid Ground Disturbance Level II® certificate from another province.

Note that secondary certifications issued will expire on the same date as your initial Ground Disturbance Level II® certification as per Utility Safety Partners requirements.

How long is a certificate valid for?

Certificates are valid for 3 years. Please note that any provincial add-on certifications, will expire at the same time as the initial certification.

How many attempts do I have to pass the final exam?

You will have three attempts at the final exam to achieve the minimum passing score of 80%. This minimum score is set by endorsing bodies: Utility Safety Partners, British Columbia Common Ground Alliance, and Manitoba Common Ground Alliance.

How long does the training take to complete?

Ground Disturbance Level I® takes an estimated 2 - 2.5 hours to complete while all Ground Disturbance Level II® programs take an estimated 6 - 6.5 hours to complete.

Our online training programs are self-paced—some learners may take more or less time to complete the program.

Is this training available in other languages?

Ground Disturbance Level I® and Ground Disturbance Best Practices are available in both English and French. Languages can be toggled between and set with the training program.

All Ground Disturbance Level II® programs are only available in English.
