RSTS - M18 - Ready Mix Drivers
Transporting concrete to arrive in optimum condition is time sensitive work that must be done efficiently and safely. A ready mix driver is responsible for the timely delivery of a live load, the safe operation of their vehicle and may have to make critical decisions about how and where to discharge their load safely and in accordance with regulations on site. A ready mix driver often works alone, so they must be competent, understand and follow the safe work practices and procedures to protect themselves from the hazards inherent in the work. This course details the key hazards and controls of operating a ready mix truck from loading to delivering concrete including the importance of truck maintenance.
This course is intended for anyone who operates a ready mix truck or assists ready mix drivers with concrete delivery at a job site. It is meant to be used in conjunction with employer led practical training on the proper operation of a ready mix truck. The course content includes real worksite video with key concepts and terms reinforced by text and imagery and quizzes throughout based on on-the-job scenarios. There is a final exam with an 80% pass rate required to complete the course and obtain the certificate.
